Confirmation for Children

"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses".

Acts 1:8

Confirmation for Children

The Confirmation Programme allows the candidates to dive deep into scripture,

understand the Sacrament of Confirmation, and learn about the gifts and the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

It involves 9 weeks of lessons on Wednesdays (no lessons during school holidays) and also a Confirmation Retreat.

Who is this Programme for?

The programme is designed for children in Year 8, though we accept older children who, for whatever reason, missed the programme at this age.

Registrations for the Children's Confirmation Programme are now closed.

You can see the dates below for the current ongoing programme. If you would like to register for the next programme, please contact the parish office: office@holyfamily.nz

When does it begin?

Begins Wed 12 February 2025, with a parent meeting.

Please see the calendar  for the upcoming dates.

Are there any costs?

Cost for 9-week programme: $120, which includes:

  • Youth Catechism for each child (which they keep)

  • Photocopying

  • Other course materials needed

  • The weekend retreat

No child should miss out on the sacraments due to financial hardship. Please contact Katrina (katrina@holyfamily.nz) to discuss how we can support you.
